Project Name: Brazil being told by the sea of Education
The group Nós de Chita is based in San Diego - CA, it was just approved (Aug 2011) by the district of San Diego as a professional art education program and and it consists on cultural performances and workshops on:
**- Traditional Dances and Rhythms from Brazil, such as Côco , Maracatu, Cacuriá, Afoxé, Maculelê, Jongo, Samba de Roda, Ciranda and their history.
** - CAPOEIRA - Brazilian Art Form involving MUSIC, DANCE, MARTIAL ART and lots of Brazilian HISTORY.
** - Circle games using Brazilian Folkloric Songs!
**- Body Percussion bringing to the audience/students the most ancient way to make music
...clap, snap, stomp, clap, snap, stomp!
**- Story Telling instigating the imagination of the crowd!
**- Lots of interaction with the audience...teachers also join the journey playing and dancing on stage with the Group!
** Call your children's school and refer us as a Multicultural Program for their education.
